“My mother in law emigrated from Russia to Brazil and eventually the the United States where she raised her family and laid down her roots. she passed a stone on to me from her time in Brazil. It was a topaz and looked to be perfectly cut for a pendant. I’m not big on pendants and was trying to think of a way to use the stone that spoke to me. It is a flashy piece and I tend to gravitate towards more grounded, earthler jewelry. I showed it to Leora and she designed a cuff bracelet using the topaz along with a stone from the Yuba River (a place I go to frequently when I need grounding, free breathing and joy). The quartz from the Yuba River brought warmth to the topaz and created a completely unique custom piece that nobody else will ever have. my mother in law loves it, and so do I.”

“Leora’s aesthetic both in metal smithing and presentation is clean, glossy, modern & organic. It still blows my socks off as some of the most stunning stone selection and craftsmanship out there. Shortly after the first fair I saw her work at (back in 2010-ish under her name ‘Gather‘ then), I asked her if she did custom work and described something using small bones and turquoise. The piece was just what I wanted, wrapped in vintage seamstress paper in a box. I was impressed with Leora’s ease in communication; she took my request and delivered. She then made me a custom hair pin from turquoise removed from a piece I already owned. Tricky work done professionally!!! She has made a beautiful amber cabochon ring at my request where I had the pleasure of visiting her home studio as she listened to me explain my desires and asked questions about comfort and color.
